Magazine Cover

This project was really fun and due to it being the last project of the year for me I decided to do a couple of my own photos instead of just one, allowing me to have a Skate Theme going for these Magazine Covers. I tried to make them look as realistic as possible to real magazines but they have special software whereas I have Photoshop. Ultimately, I liked how these turned out and I'm proud of my projects for this class. It was a fun class and I hope to take more like it in the future.

Poem in Print

This project was really fun as it allowed me to be very creative and choose exactly what I wanted to do. Also, with the pictures I've taken outside of class, it makes a bigger impact with the subjects they contain. Overall, these pictures are creative and the poems on them were quick and easy, as I just threw together what was on the top of my head and it came out quite well.

Outdoor Macro

This project was fun and allowed me to be creative with what objects I wanted macro with. With the two for nature I obviously chose some plants, one as a beautiful flower and the second and one of the fluffy weeds. The third photo had to be man-made so I decided to do the tread on my tires. The top two nature photos came out great with the colors, lighting effects that came naturally, and most of all the sharpness of the image. While the third one came out well, I feel like I could've done a better object for the man-made macro photo. All in all, I liked this project and hope to do it again.

Pic in a Pic

This project gave me plenty of enjoyment because it is quick, easy, and the results of the multiple filters can be really nice together. My first photo was a colored pencil filter with a solarized center while my second photo had watercolor and sumie on the inside. Then my 3rd had pen outline on the outside and sketch on the inside and finally my 4th one had pencil on the outside and watercolor fiber on the inside.

4 Pic 1 Word

I was sort of in the middle about how I feel about this project because I didn't know what word to use exactly and finally when I chose, it wasn't exactly what I needed. Overall, the project can be very fun, but it just isn't for me.

Action Photography

This project was very quick and easy. The pictures were easy to take due to my experience with higher end DSLR-cameras and working with ISO settings and as well as shutter speed and partial aperture adjustment to allow the light to reach the lens of the camera and come out as a good photo. The top image shows my Triptych of images with blurred action, stop action, and also my panning photo also with a fast shutter speed. The second image shows my experimentation with a slow shutter speed and a panning action, which came out really nice and also gives it a sort of heaven-like feeling,

3D

This project was very entertaining, but a little annoying. The pictures were mostly fun to edit but then trying to get the 3D effect took a while and the image wouldn't look right because your eyes would feel weird and get messed up. Overall, I liked how the images came out in the end. The only one that seemed troublesome was the one of the car, I couldn't get it to be a good 3D image, but it works a little so I put it on here.

Painting with Light

I ended up having a lot of fun in doing this project being it gave me infinite ideas and choices to create art. I loved the different ideas that can be done as well as the many outcomes that come from different lights. I decided to do something outside the school and outline my car with some lights. My friend Stephen helped me with the lights while we did a 30" shutter speed with a medium aperture and a low ISO setting. The first photo is the original while the second one has more lighting photoshopped in. finally, the rest of them are filtered versions of the original photo.

Motion Blur

I decided to use race cars for Motion Blur because that is one of the most common ways Motion Blur occurs in photography. The first two photos include Ferrari Enzos with a hint of Motion Blur, giving off the effect that they are in motion and are racing on the track. The third photo is what seems to be a racing modified Lexus LFA made especially for the Nurburgring, which is the popular world circuit in Germany. Finally, the last one was Motion Blur of the skateboarder, in which he kickflips his board and both him and the board are blurred due to the motion.

Depth of Field

This assignment was fairly easy due to the fact that we only had to use one of our photos from the large supply we should have by now, but I decided to use two. The first photo in particular I used for a leading line assignment and decided to use it again, but for Depth of Field this time around. This photo of my friend Stephen was portrayed in a canvas of before the Gaussian Blur and after to show the effect Depth of field has on an image and how it causes the observer's attention to be brought towards the person or object of interest more. The second photo is of my friend Turi and I decided to use him too because this was another good portrait photo I had. Blurring the surroundings allow the focus of the image to be on Turi and take away focus on the objects behind him. This allows for a bigger impression as well on the observer, just like the first photo.

Comic Book Covers

These are my Comic Book Covers for the project. The idea for these photo came from an old comic book called "Micronauts" and when I found that online, I thought that this would be a neat idea. These 4 Comic Book Covers show the lives of the 3 Micronauts in their attempt to adjust and survive in the harsh world. They also stop along the way to see some sights and even fight off dangerous beasts! This 4-Issue series will hit close to home with a dramatic storyline as well as a humorous undertone.

Macro

This photo is a macro photo of my Nintendo 3DS and the texture on the gloss as well as the edges and the difference in contrast the camera gives the photo overall due to the overwhelming ocean of blue.

This is a macro photo of my pair of RayBan sunglasses from the side in the lightbox. The light from the lightbox, due to the sunglasses' transparency, shines through and gives us a cool effect underneath, showing the sides of the RayBans.

Photo Restoration

This photo is one of the four photo restorations I've done for this project. This specifically is a photo of my dad crouching in front of what looks like a 1980's Lamborghini Countach, which is a older model that is no longer in production since 1990. In this photo, I had to edit the Brightness/Contrast as well as the Saturation and also Despeckle the image.
This photo is the second one I restored out of the four for this project. This one specifically is my mom at what looks to be a pizza place or something like that. For this photo, I had to go through and take care of the blue line in the photo, plus Brightness/Contrast, Saturation, and Despeckle as well.
This is the third photo I restored out of the four I did. This one is a photo of my dad when he was a kid in school. For this photo, I had to edit the same things as the other photos as well as spot-heal the speckles in the top right and on the shirt.
Finally, this is my last photo that I restored. It was taken from the school's folder of available pictures for this project specifically. I had to go in specifically and take care of the over-exposure of the man's face as well as the contrast of the entire photo and despeckle too.

Product Photography

This is Gradient Photography. Gradient Photography is used to advertise products and attract people to use their product and become a regular consumer. This effect ends up swelling their finances and thus raising more money for the company.

This effect is the Lightbox effect. This is used to give products a more positive look due to the overall balance of light as well as the outstanding contrast of the product to give the consumer the feeling of relief when they buy the product, believing it's the best they'll find.

Finally, this is SFX (Special Effects) and the Lightbox effect. Special Effects are used to allow the product to look much better than just only the Lightbox effect by itself. Naturally, using them both to your advantage is a very smart idea for the fact that the contrast forces the color to pop out and coerce people to buy the product and overall make the company money.
